Klankhaven
... is a nomadic platform for music beyond category in Antwerp, where the listener encounters musical forms that are well-hidden underneath the surface of the popular, well-known categories such as free improvisation, modal jazz, modern classical, and experimental electronics.
This platform arose from the observation that in Antwerp there is far too little space for the great diversity of the most varied, profound, and passionate forms of musical expressions that this country has to offer.
Klankhaven is open to anyone curious to discover this parallel universe the musical spectrum. It is inclusive, non-elitarian, and above all, exciting.
At its core, there is a complete do-it-yourself mentality. That means: creating opportunities oneself instead of waiting for them. That way, Klankhaven joins a circuit of very intriguing concert venues and organizations with a similar spirit, with whom it frequently collaborates.
